Peter DeBartolo ( Administrative Director, Levermore Global Scholars)'s idea:

an app that would scan barcodes of products (maybe staring with electronics, etc.) and cross reference this information with companies' SEC filings (which are publicly available but currently buried in a government database) in order to tell consumers if these items contain "conflict minerals." The idea would be to generate mini-reports about your "conflict footprint" (how one's purchases increase or lessen support for companies and - by extension - groups utilizing conflict minerals, which promote/sustain certain conflicts). And then consumers would be able to share on Facebook or Twitter (or another social media platform) their findings and posts, etc.
