It is important to protect children from cyberbullying.
Arguments for my position
Cyberbullying
is dangerous.
Key
aspects of this definition and other definitions of
cyberbullying include that the act is intentional,
repeated, and involve psychological torment for the victim
(Beale & Hall, 2007;Tokunaga, 2010).
It is important that nurses know how to recognize the warning
signs of bullying in order for them to address the issue. (Van
Ouystel, Walrave, & Vandebosch, 2014).
School nurses can be the first to discover cyberbullying in
the daily lives of students. (Carter and Wilson, 2015).
Children can be exposed or victimized to cyberbullying at a
young age.
A priority need for future
research is well-conducted studies to assess school nurses’
knowledge of social media apps, particularly as they are
related to cyberbullying. (Aboujaoude et al., 2015).
