The History of Photography

I don't want to make this website to educational because I really would like the viewers of these pages to look and enjoy the pictures. Even with this though, I would like my viewers to know a little about why and how the human and artistic population are able to show there ideas through photography and other forms of media.  The first idea for a camera came from Chinese and Greek philosophers and the "Photography" (Φωτογραφια) comes from the Greek words photos (Φωτος) and graphein (Γραφειη). The first permanent photograph was invented in 1825 by Joseph Nicephore Niepce. Since that point in time people have been evolving photography having the first color photograph created in 1861 and then soon the digital camera which most people use today. There are also disposable cameras and now you can have you photos developed in under an hour. Some of the biggest names in the camera world are Sony, Kodak, Polaroid, and Canon.

Now I bet you are wondering why I got into photography. The truth is, I'm not quite sure. I've always loved art and always loved the different ways to express them. I've done dance for about 8 years of my life and I learned how to draw from friends and family. While in Europe with a program called People to People, I started taking pictures as a way to documentize everything I saw and experienced and I realized that the pictures I was taking weren't just things, they were great things. That was when I was 17 and I have been taking pictures ever since. The ictures on this website will contain some of all of the pictures that I've taken over the years.
