1. The internet can be used as a positive influence for teenagers such as learning games and educational websites.
• For some individuals, educational websites provides a way for teenagers to learn healthy habits especially on health specified websites. (Borzekowski, 2006)
2. Adolescents usage of the internet and social media provides a space for them to learn about conflicts, others opinions/viewpoints, and critical thinking.
• Online interaction between teenagers and other individuals provides an adequate place for them to learn about the proper mannerism when approaching other people’s opinions and addressing critical thinking problems. (Zazik & Park, 2010)
3. The internet can help shy teenagers interact with other teenagers without feeling obligated to reach out to them face to face.
• The usage of social media and the internet has lessened the stress of face to face interaction for some teenagers (Anderson & Jiang, 2018)
• Many teenagers claim to have a positive influence by the ease of connection with family and friends through the internet and social media applications such as texting and calling. (Anderson & Jiang, 2018)
