The World Series has been played for more than 100 years. And yet, this proud game marches on. Why? Because baseball gives us the hope that anything can happen. From walk-off home runs to incredible catches, steals of home to simple errors that become larger than life. Baseball has been passed on from Fathers to Daughters, Mothers to Sons, family to friends, and for generations to come. And in the World Series, the spotlight is intensified to the point that moments become ingrained in our American history. That is why Baseball is the National Pastime. Even in the darkest of times, the sport goes on, just as we do.
