Opening Discussion: The clients will discuss an event/activity from their journal or something that has occurred sometime within the past week. The clients will be prompted to discuss how they felt regarding that activity. What emotion did they experience? They should also tell of why they felt that way? The clients will be prompted to give more details regarding the event or activity? The clinicians will begin by asking one client. Then that client will ask another client and so on until all clients have spoken. The clients will be encouraged to use names when speaking to others. Clinicians may ask questions to further elaborate and gain more details.

Social Skills Activity: Today's session will reinforce the ideas of sequencing events. The clinicians will review words used when sequencing (first, next, then, last, after). The clients will be paired up. Each pair will receive steps to completing an activity. The clients will be given time to use their knowledge of sequencing words to put the steps in order. The clients will share their correctly ordered steps with the group once completed. The group will then be instructed to create a story using the sequencing words as often as possible. After each client has given a sentence to add to the story they will be able to move their piece on the board game.

Craft Activity: The clients will create and decorate cards in honor of Mother's Day. The client will be instructed to choose a female member of their family in which they would like to say thanks to. They will be instructed to write four reasons they would like to thank them and why they appreciate them. The clinicians will supply the clients with the materials needed to decorate their Mother's Day Cards. The clinicians will prompt the clients to initiate and maintain conversations while completing the craft activity.

Snack Activity: The clients will be making ice cream sundaes. One client will be given the cups and one client will be given the spoons to distribute. The other clientsa will have to request (by using names) a cup and spoon from them. The clients will also request the flavor ice cream scoops from the clinicians. During the snack activity the clients will be prompted to discuss their summer plans.

Closing Discussion: The clinicians will prompt the clients to discuss their thoughts and feelings about the activities presented throughout the semester. What were some of their favorites? Why? They will also be prompted to discuss which areas they need to work on based on the color foam smiley faces they have not received.
