Artwork Except for stripped-in lineart and photographs, this directory contains all the artwork that appears in "Introduction to Computer Graphics." Because of character encoding differences between the Macintosh and most other computers, two versions of the artwork are provided, Mac_Art, and Unix_Art. Most of the artwork is provided as an Encapsulated Postscript (EPS) file, but some figures are in Tagged Image File Format (TIFF) format. The figures are NOT meant to be directly printed, but to be imported into a graphics art software package and manipulated and printed there. Thus, it is possible to resize figures and group several together in a single viewgraph. For the Macintosh, the figures in Mac_Art have all been tested with Aldus FreeHand 3.1 and FrameMaker 3.0. The files in Unix_Art have been tested with Virtuoso on a NeXT computer and FrameMaker 3.0. NOTICE Addison-Wesley Publishing Company, Inc., hereby grants permission to produce transparencies from the figures of "Introduction to Computer Graphics," by Foley, van Dam, Feiner, Hughes, and Phillips, provided that these transparencies are used exclusively in support of teaching from that book. No other use is authorized without the express written permission of the publisher.
