I originally intended this Web assignment to double as the "think piece", but enough people complained that they didn't want to do a Web page about that topic that I've separated the two assignments. Homework 5 is now the "think piece", and homework 6 may be on any topic whatsoever (including but not limited to your homework 5, your essay, your PowerPoint presentation, etc.)
A first draft, written in plain text or with an ordinary word processor, presenting your topic, the main points you want to make, and some ideas for how the Web site will be structured: what kinds of graphics and/or sound will you need, how many pages will you need, on what subjects, how will each page be laid out, what sorts of links will you need, what sorts of text formatting, tables, frames, etc. you'll need. You may want to sketch layouts by hand, or with a graphics program if you prefer, but the graphics themselves are not part of this assignment. Turn in on paper or by e-mail.
A minimal Web page, using some text formatting and links; graphics,
sound, tables, frames, etc. are optional at this stage. The Web
page must be uploaded to your panther account and visible on the
www.adelphi.edu
Web server; turn in the URL.
A more involved Web site, with
several pages and links among them, as well as links to other people's
pages as appropriate; use graphics, tables, text formatting, animation,
etc. as appropriate to your topic. Again, all pages must be uploaded
to your panther account and visible on the www.adelphi.edu
Web server; turn in the URL.
Will be graded
for content and style (i.e. readability and effectiveness; more
graphics and animation may help, but are not always an
improvement).
