Choose a topic or question you'd like to research, preferably relevant to this class (my suggested reading list may give you some ideas). Find and evaluate several sources of information on the topic, including at least two different Web sites and at least one non-Web source. (If you're completely overwhelmed with information, narrow your topic.)

Write an essay (probably a few pages) about what you found. Discuss

• what question you chose to research;
• how you went about searching for information;
• what sources you found;
• how accurate and how biased you think each source is, and why; and
• any particularly good or bad aspects of the way the information was presented (you'll use this later on to help design a Web site).

Your essay should be written using a word processor such as Word or WordPerfect, using titles, section headers, paragraph indentation, italics, etc. as appropriate.
