Homework 3

Assigned Feb 8, due Feb 22

Build and post (on panther) a Web site of at least three pages, using at least the following features:

It doesn't need to be about anything exciting or earthshaking (e.g. "My name is Joe Schmoe. I go to Adelphi University. Here's a list of my favorite bands, and here's a table showing what classes I'm taking at what times."); just demonstrate that you can do all this stuff. On the other hand, if you actually have something to say with your Web site, so much the better!

You can do a lot of the work with a WYSIWYG editor like SeaMonkey Composer). However, at least one of your pages must be written directly in HTML. (Seamonkey has a mode that allows you to write in HTML and then immediately see how it looks.) And I'll expect you to be able to explain, on demand, what any part of the HTML code does. So don't use features you don't know how to do in HTML.

For extra credit, include a CSS stylesheet that controls things that you use in several places. This may be an embedded stylesheet in one page, or a separate file that you can use in several different pages. The calendar for this course is a simple example of using CSS stylesheets.

Upload these Web pages to the panther web server. To turn in your assignment, simply e-mail me the URL of the first page you want me to look at (which should include hot-links to any other pages you want me to look at).
