PHOTOS of my JOLLY Boy

CASANOVA'S JOLLYSTAR M'GOLDWHIZ

My NEW pup's a boy, just in time for the holidays! I first laid eyes on him Thanksgiving weekend, 2010, just a few days before his first birthday. Barb brought him to the Springfield, MA shows, along with his brother, and this "Purple" boy made friends with everyone he saw, me included. Now, a couple of weeks later, he finally has a real name of his own (Jolly), chosen in part for the holiday season and in memory of my old girls, Golly & Ginny. But also I am hoping that his name is a good omen of the happiness that lies ahead. This year especially I am thinking of Jackie Bowes and her family and friends, as they mourn her untimely passing. Jackie managed to raise and train a WONDERFUL set of pups this past year, one of her many gifts to the Golden world. Winter pictures 2010-2011 Jolly sittin', just home & posed with a treat Jolly, serious about 'wait' (flashbulb eyes) Jolly, standing (great photo) Jolly & me (another Jamesport photo) Jolly with bumper! (profile) Jolly goes to our February show Spring-Summer 2011 Jolly in Manorville Summer 2012 Jolly zooming at Camp Lucy Puppy pictures Jolly at 12 weeks (on the left) with 3 of his littermates,"Orange" already gone home. Timer (one of Jolly's brothers, as a young pup, posed). NEW! Jolly at 7.5 mo. (Jackie's photo, thanks to Dee Strauss)

Thanks to Josh Curtis of Best Built for the first two photo & Jim Slezak for the January ones. Thanks also to Elinor Posey and others for pics of Jackie's pups when they were young. Really wonderful for me to see what Jolly and the others looked like back then. Also Katie for her website on Haley, with puppy page for Belle, Haley's sister

About my Jolly pup's name: Jackie had nicknames for her dogs. My pup was "Erkel". (Her Casanova Ammo was 'A'; Bee Bee, Jolly's mom, was 'B'; Champ 'C'; the Green pup was "Duffy". And my Purple Erkle was dog E in her family). Referring (I think) to a nerdy character in "Family Matters, a long-running Black sit com in the 70's.
BTW the colors refer to the yarn on their necks to identify the pups when they were wee ones. "Blue" was the last of the three Jackie kept--Barb has no idea what his nickname was, but I like to think it was Fuzz or Filbert or Felix! But HEY, let's give my pup some CLASS and remind folks that Erkel is the name of a well-known Hungarian composer of operas in the 1800s, who was also an expert chess player. MY boy is smart. Truly a gift. And with Sunfire on one side of his pedigree he's related to my two most recent Goldens: Sunfire's Golly G's A Whiz CD JH WCX (1988-2003)"Golly" Sunfire's Risingstar Gingrbear CD RE JH WC (1996-2009) "Ginny" Both wonderful dogs. Miss them dearly. Even more so, of course, this time of year, my twin sister, Susie. Here's Jolly's pedigree
