Physics 244 - Digital Circuits - Fall 2001 - Dr. H.F. Ahner

TR 12:15-1:30pm and R 6:35-9:05pm

Text: Logic and Computer Design Fundamentals, Mano & Kime, Prentice Hall, latest edition.

In a self-contained course, students will

In addition to performing experiments that illustrate the principles discussed in the lecture portion of the course, students will build a digital project to take home with them (a digital logic probe).

Lab experiments will include the following:

GRADING:

Your grade will be determined from the average of all your quizzes (all quizzes, except the final, will be scheduled as surprise quizzes, either oral or written), and the average of your experiment write-ups. Due dates for experiment write-ups will be announced as labs are completed but will usually be one week after the conclusion of a laboratory session. Letter grades will be associated with averages as follows:

A-= 90,91; A=92-95; A+= 96,or higher

B- =80,81; B=82-87; B+=88,89

C-=70,71; C=72-77; C+=78,79

D-=60,61; D=62-67; D+=68,69

F = 59 and lower.
