On the day of his awakening, after meditating through the night, the Buddha opened his eyes, gazed upon the morning star and exclaimed, “How strange! All beings have an awakened nature, yet they do not know it.”
Here
are some of the Buddhist web sites that I use frequently.
Plum Village Home Page. Plum Village is the monastery and meditation center in France founded by exiled Vietnamese monk Thich Nhat Hanh.
The Buddhist Door, which has some interesting stuff.
The Buddhist Publication Society, which has an incredible library of publications on the web.
Dhamma Zone , which has many of Buddha's discourses.
Parallax Press, which is a publisher of most of Thich Nhat Hanh's books
The Community of Mindfulness/NY Metro is an organization that is inspired by the teachings of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh.     Sittings are held throughout the week and throughout New York City and the surrounding areas.    People who have not previously meditated are always welcome, as are practitioners from other traditions.    For further information please call the hot-line at (212) 501-2652.
