This assignment is a "think piece" about the social or personal impact of some aspect of computers and telecommunications, e.g. as related to encryption, privacy, crime, terrorism, plagiarism, intellectual property, race, sex, poverty, international relations, commerce, etc. It may, but need not, be related to the previous assignments you've done this semester.
Treat this as a term paper or an extended essay. I'll be fairly flexible on length, but I'd say two pages is too short, and fifty pages is too long.
